About Standard Proof - A Nashville Whiskey Distillery
From the beginning, Standard Proof set out to be one of a kind. A micro-distillery specializing in infused whiskeys. All our infusions start with our straight rye whiskey that is aged in charred oak barrels. The rye whiskey has a spicier flavor than bourbon, which makes it a better pair for our infusions.
All of our whiskey infusions are made with real, natural ingredients that are put directly into our whiskey to infuse for weeks or months till they’ve achieved the perfect flavor blend.
The idea for our infusions was Born Behind The Bar™ in our Nashville distillery. We realized that by using real ingredients (like roasted pecans and Ceylon cinnamon sticks) and adding them to our whiskey, we could create a unique flavor complexity.
Once we had perfected our proprietary infusion process, we knew these whiskey options would be the perfect addition to your favorite cocktails and… boom! Our whiskey tasting and cocktail classes were born!
What Is a Whiskey Cocktail Class and What Can I Expect?
Taste Our Infusions: To get started, you’ll get to try all seven of our signature and infused whiskeys Our expert instructor will teach you about how they’re made and the flavor profile of each variety.
Make Cocktails: Once you’ve tasted our infusions, it’s time to add them to some delicious cocktails! Your instructor will provide everything you need to make cocktails like a pro. With simple instructions, few ingredients and impressive results, you’ll be able to make these cocktails at home for your next get-together.
Get The Recipe: We don’t expect you to have a perfect memory - that’s why you’ll get a QR code with a link to all the ingredients and recipes you made during your class. No need to try and take notes and write down everything you see. We did the work for you so all you have to do is enjoy your time in class and have fun!
Cocktail Tools: You may be thinking - cocktails require a lot of special tools and ingredients. How can I make them at home? The answer is we can provide these for you! After the class, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase bottles of your favorite whiskey, shaker kits, merchandise and more. Easily get started on your home creations as soon as you’re done with the class! We even offer premium class tickets, which include a bottle of whiskey and wearable to take home at a bundled rate. I mean, c’mon, who doesn’t love a great deal?

All our instructors are also whiskey fanatics! These are the whiskey enthusiasts who came up with our Born Behind The Bar™ motto. Our instructors are ready to work with anyone, from the novice to the whiskey expert. They eat, drink, and live our whiskey culture and are ready to answer all of your questions.
Your senses are in for a treat when you get to sample all of our infused whiskeys and learn some fun cocktails that you can make at home.
3. Award-Winning Whiskey Infusions
I mean, that’s the reason we’re here! We make some of the best whiskey infusions in the world (and have been recognized for it!). Our Cinnamon Spiced Whiskey won a Double Gold Medal and Best In Class at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) in 2022. Our Texas Pecan Whiskey was awarded the gold medal with 91 points at the 2023 The South’s Best Spirit Awards. Beyond our cinnamon and pecan infusions, we have four other fun infusions, a straight rye whiskey and a new Straight Bourbon whiskey that was much anticipated and finally launched in November 2023. We’ve spent countless hours experimenting to come up with the perfect spirit for you to enjoy.

If you and your significant other are tired of the same old “dinner and a movie”, look no further than our cocktail classes. We provide the fun and entertainment and all you need to do is come join!
We keep our classes small (12 people max) to allow for an interactive experience and intimate atmosphere. Your instructor will work with you and answer all your questions about whiskey and cocktails.
Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties
Our Cocktail Classes are sure to bring a fun, memorable experience to your bachelor or bachelorette party. Our distillery is conveniently located right off Broadway and is within walking distance to the city’s best restaurants, venues, and attractions.
